TOOLS FOR WELLBEING
Research tells us we are feeling under pressure, always-on, distracted, information overloaded and quite frankly, overwhelmed. The pressure cooker pace of life is putting a huge strain on our inner resources and leading to higher levels of burnout than we’ve ever seen before.
The never-ending pressure to do more, push more, achieve more, not to mention manage organisational and societal change is draining our physical, mental, and emotional energies. And, that was before we threw Covid, homeschooling, financial insecurities and months in lockdown into the mix.
The Australian Psychological Society (2017) reported that Australian’s are experiencing lower levels of wellbeing and higher stress and anxiety than in previous years.
They also noted:
Over one third of Australians report having a significant level of distress in their lives;
Over one quarter of Australians report above normal levels of anxiety symptoms;
Over one quarter of Australians report having moderate to extremely severe levels of depression symptoms;
and In 2015, anxiety symptoms were the highest they have been in the five years of the survey, again, pre-Covid.
Whether in our places of work, or we are simply taking our wellbeing into our own hands, prioritising our mental and physical health is no longer a nice-to-have, but a non-negotiable in order to help us manage our stress, build our capacity for resilience and empower us to live more connected to ourselves and others.
Meditation & Mindfulness are perhaps some of the most simple, but profound ways to enhance our own wellbeing, improving the quality of our own lives, and helping to strengthen the connection we have both to ourselves and within our relationships.
My programs and masterclasses help individuals and organisations learn evidence-based tools and practices for self-care, emotional regulation, as well as overcoming stress, and the other mental health challenges we are facing, helping to improve their lives and minds from the inside out, approaching everyday with a little more ease.
